Bang! almost the end of the month. I can’t believe I’m experiencing some sort of illness. I’m really hoping that it’s just some allergies because I CANNOT afford to be back on the sickness train anytime soon. It’s far too early for feeling that way. The good thing is that this weekend should be relatively quiet and I can take Friday night and Saturday to recover. Just some downtime will be helpful. It’s interesting to notice patterns in motivation and fatigue from year to year. Yesterday was definitely a tiring day and my mood and behaviour reflected that idea.

I’ve been really digging into this chapel talk idea and want to go forward with it, but am struggling with it’s value. The challenge is that each consecutive chapel talk needs to be better than the the one before otherwise I lose value. Just marginally better. This new idea doesn’t convince me enough. However, I’ll keep at it and get some ideas down this morning so that I can flush it out for Father C. My goal is to do at least 2 and hopefully 3 talks this entire year.

I’m glad I pushed through the workout this morning. It was really important because otherwise I’d feel slightly defeated. Being sick and not being able to finish a workout is a double whammy.

Things I need to do today:

- Chapel talk ideas down
- Update class craft
- Fix Grade 6 Mission 3

Well consistency has been a big issue with these blogs. Still trying to find my groove and get into a bit of a routine. Hopefully that will take care of itself soon enough and I’ll be able to write more often.

I woke up in a daze this morning. It was wild - I actually thought my alarm had been going off for a while. Funny enough, I had 8 hours of sleep. It’s weird what happens to you when you wake up mid-REM.

Tried the super starch this morning and so far so good. I was surprised to struggle on some lifts, but my endurance definitely felt great. Right now I’m usually on the down slope with regards to energy, but actually feel quite level. The secret will be how I feel in about an hour or 2. The plan is to keep using the stuff for at least a month or until the supply runs out and reevaluate my feelings, weight and appearance in the mirror. The intermittent fasting has been a godsend and can be used to cut weight effectively. I’m now in the process of adding some muscle, but I want to do it in recomp style where I’m not gaining fat as well. Anyway, only time will tell.

I’m close to getting Minecraft settled in here and would like to get the computers setup. Hopefully I can have a game going by the end of the week. The challenge is going to be to get the latest OS installed on the machines. Unfortunately with the new version of Minecraft it won’t fly. I suppose the squeaky wheel gets the grease and the only way to get it done is to continually harass. Too bad.

Things I would like to accomplish today:

  1. Book the computers and follow-up with Steph about a cpu cart.
  2. Take a quick look at my website and keep updating
  3. Get the Freshgrade accounts working

I’m baaack! It’s been a while. Like, a really long time. It’s difficult to find the time to pump out a diary in the summer with the kids around. I’m usually up and working out and the few minutes I get while they eat breakfast are spent planning the activities for the day. Also, it’s not very quiet which makes it difficult to gather my thoughts. Anyway, I’m back for the next foreseeable future because I don’t have a homeroom this year. Before I get started on the here and now, here’s a quick recap of the summer:

  1. Travelling was amazing. I really enjoyed Portland and loved that I had some time to myself to do things at my own pace. The running culture there was fantastic!
  2. Pneumonia sucks. It was a fitness slog all summer and I’m only (barely) starting to feel better now.
  3. Even though I was sick, I’m starting to feel more rested as a result of my CPAP.
  4. I seemed to lose some motivational drive over the summer.

And back to today. Last night I slept with my CPAP on a lower pressure setting. It was lowered from 7.6 to 6.8. Not sure if that’s a huge difference, but I definitely felt less interrupted and was even able to sleep on my side without waking with a dry mouth. According to my Garmin, I slept for a 8h 36m and even woke up before my alarm. The CPAP said I had 0.3 Apneas per hour which is very low (it was 2.8 on Mon night). The real test is how fatigued I get this afternoon. Do I feel sleepy or just tired? The more sleepy I feel, the less effective the therapy is. While I get up at 5:15, I’m still in bed for 8 hours. The quality of the sleep is in question. We’ll see and I’ll follow-up tomorrow.

This is new - I’d like to write down 3 things to accomplish today and see if I was able to do them on the next day.

  1. Get the grade 4 board up this afternoon (great afternoon activity)
  2. Spend some time editing Charlottes video
  3. Update my website
