Second day of March break and my back hurts. I guess I went a little to hard on the kettle bell yesterday. I’ll try and push through on my workout today, but it looks like back squats with the new weights will have to wait until tomorrow.
I got some things done yesterday on the book. I’m noticing that Seth Godin is happy to take ideas from other people and use it in his material. I’m thinking that my book - even though it’s not completely original - may get some traction.
One thing I learned yesterday: Industrialization of education is a result of bringing the mass education to people who could grow up and work in factories. This is changing now because there are no factory jobs. Customized education is required to help prepare students for a world that will require them to be innovative and gritty.
One piece of motivation: Clapping exercise. Once you realize that clapping is alright, it’s easier to go louder and louder. It’s the getting people to clap first that’s the difficult part. It’s easy to take something that exists and change it (like milk in cartons and bags), but creating something new is extremely difficult.
Three ideas: Feeling safe is a really good point to play on with the book. Teachers are required to teach the curriculum, but could sneak in the skills to each lesson.
Workout:
*sore back
22 min run (should be sprints)
3 x 500 row
3 x 10 sandbag burpee
3 x 10 Romanian front squat
3 x 30 double unders
3 x 10 DB complex
