Friday the 13th! And, it’s in October. Scary stuff. Had trouble with my CPAP last night and woke up at 2 am. Now I’m tired and have a slight headache. So weird that sometimes the CPAP doesn’t engage and causes me to become short of breath. Anyway, hopefully I can catch up on some sleep this weekend. Such a weird thing that I can’t get any sleep. Anyway, the journey goes on…
Monday will suck for working out because all the free time I have is taken up by classes in the fitness room. The alternative is to run outdoors which isn’t always the easiest idea when you have sore legs from the day before. Ideally I’d be able to get into the fitness place and get workout in before the run after school. I’ll bring my stuff and play it by ear. I’m still even struggling with taking today off and Monday and just dive back in to regular schedule for the next couple of weeks. Really I should have woken up early this morning. There was no excuse and now I’m forced to motivate myself to go during my prep.
Finally secured progress on the Minecraft front and got some licenses. Just in time too because kids will be doing coding today. Just need to fill out the expense form and get it to Heather.
Good times!

Sore legs today! Did some squatting this morning and I’m shocked at how much my legs are aching. Didn’t think I went that hard! Having a day off yesterday provided some extra oomph in my workout. Oh well. Looks like I’ll need to workout at some point tomorrow. Might as well just get up early and do it again. I won’t need to be terribly early this weekend and should be able to make up some sleep. It will also give me some motivation to reduce the alcohol consumption tonight.
I finally figured out the Minecraft issue and can go ahead and get it ordered. I don’t really want to use my credit card, so perhaps I can get Heather to sign off on it and have Dora use the school credit card. It certainly would save some paperwork. Either way, it’s good to know that major problem has been solved! Also glad to hear that they’re still thinking of me tech wise. All I need is a few more computers to really get it going. Need to figure out this job board too.
At some point over the next few days I need to begin to piece together my chapel talk. It will take some work because I want to incorporate video. The secret is to get started!
Workout:
22 min run
3 x 10 back squat
3 x 25 kettlebell swing
3 x 10 bench press
2 min row
30s hard on bike

Back to it after a tough day yesterday. I still can’t believe she’s gone. It’s funny how life just seems to go onwards without much change. It’s for the best, she wouldn’t have wanted to see herself waste away in a home. The important point is to keep her alive inside and use her life as motivation to do right in this world. It seems all a bit cheesy and corny, but there isn’t a human being alive whom I respect more than my grandmother. She did it living small and was rewarded with a wonderful life.
The eulogy went over fairly well. Hopefully others liked it and were inspired. It feels really good to write and perform speeches, I wish that it could happen full time! One day…
I slept through my alarm today but I’m not too upset. I feel like a good rest day is in order given the up and down emotions of the last few days. I can’t believe how this tech problem is weighing on me. It’s much more in my thoughts than even this other eulogy or chapel talk are.
The goal for today is to get this tech problem solved once and for all. I need to have the computers in here by Friday so at least 6A can work on Minecraft. I need to get the job board setup for that as well.

Last day before the Thanksgiving break. It feels like a really long week. Yesterday was an unusually emotional day because my granny passed away. She was 91 and about to be 92. It’s sad she was a tremendous individual who I deeply admired and was proud to know. She constituted what it means to be a hero. Now that she’s passed, I have the sole mission to live a life that she would be proud of. I can do her well by absolutely smashing the 2 chapel talks that I have lined up. To completely inspire others to be better. This is the goal I have and I will channel her best as I create and deliver the presentation.
It’s only fitting that today is a beautifully calm day. Life is precious and it goes by in an instant.
Workout:
22 min run
3 x 7 power cleans
3 x 7 DB complex
3 x 10 one arm rows

I can’t believe that I’m on antibiotics again! Funny enough, that one dosage last night has already started to work and I feel great. This mornings workout was amazing, I didn’t run out of energy or stall at any point. This is how boring workouts are supposed to go!
Sleep was great too. I didn’t end up having to pee in the middle of the night and that allowed me to stay asleep for once. It was getting bad there for a bit. I’m going to ask my doc about it next visit. I’m probably just drinking too much water.
I’m also feeling great about this chapel talk idea on heroes. Definitely going to roll with it. Hopefully I can get in some time before xmas and then again in term 2 or 3.
To do today:
Email Father C about chapel talk - make it real!
Review slack see if there’s any value.
Add a new post to my website.

Had a decent night’s sleep. Definitely feeling better rested these days. Interestingly enough, it’s the lack of T that’s really been a game changer. I’m very curious to know what the results will be. Although I don’t feel like I did years ago, it’s certainly been strange to experience a decline again. I do see the benefits in keeping it lower though. Definitely have a better mood and although my energy wanes a bit, my mind is much clearer.
I’ve been contemplating a lot lately about these chapel talks and my grandma’s eulogy. Seth made an excellent statement yesterday when he suggested that I go ahead an make good art. It may not be for everyone, but I can always change. Also, tools, while important, are not the be all and end all of a good piece of art. Many amazing books were written on typewriters or notepads. The latest MacBook wasn’t necessary. Important to keep that in mind.
I want to look into using slack more often. It seems to pop up in my network all the time and makes for a good messenger service.
Workout was good -
22 min run
3 x 8(10) deadlift
3 x 10 sandbag clean
30s hard on bike
3 x 7 front squat (felt hard to do - lack flexibility )

Happy first Monday in October. That month went quick. This week is going to be short but does have lots of things going on. X-country meet on Thursday and practice all week. I’m very glad that this season is short because these x-country practices are tough on the motivation. Hard to keep kids in line that treat it like a club. I think there’s still a full 4-weeks left though…
Missed a decent workout yesterday because of car issues. Today will be a short one as well due to scheduling. As much as I like playing hockey, it really does effect my ability to stay consistent with the workouts. I’m hoping to treat this week as a bit of reload considering that I’ll need to run at the cottage this weekend for a couple of days. I’m considering having an early morning workout on Friday since I’ll be more motivated to do so.
I have my ideas for a chapel talk and granny’s eulogy. Just need to secure a date for the chapel talk and I’ll be more inclined to get started. I need to email Father C today.
Minecraft is an issue, now that I need to get another account setup because I used my ’10’. I really need to contact the people and get it sorted out before it’s too late. Goodness it’s only a few hundred dollars!
Workout:
20 elliptical
deadlift
tri-pulldown
leg press
chest
