Welcome to the New Year! It’s been a couple weeks since an entry, but I’ve had this diary on my mind. Holidays were great. It’s really nice to have a job that allows me to take long intermittent breaks. I’m still sick. Although it is slowly getting better, I’ve still been frustrated as to figuring out its cause. After looking through some CPAP posts and meeting with a repirologist I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s either poor hygiene on the filter or too much dry air. I’ll continue to keep my equipment clean and hopefully get into see the people at the CPAP place to get a new filter and new masks to help with the problem. I’m sure that they’ll have some insight too. Perhaps it’s just something as simple as changing my mask.
Now that it’s the new year, I’m offically on a cut. I’m hoping that we can book this vacation on March Break and it will give me some motivation to be beach ready. I jumped on the scales yesterday and I was back up to 174. I don’t really have a goal weight, other than to get to the point where I feel comfortable with my shirt off. I’m guessing it will be closer to a weight of 165-170. I’ll keep at the intermittent fasting and hopefully my sickness will lift soon and I’ll be able to get some more quality cardio in. I got gassed last night at hockey which is incredibly unusual.
And, probably the most difficult is the cutting out of alcohol for a month. It needs to be done, if nothing else to prove that I can drink alcohol and not feel any ill effects. Although it’s only been two days, I’ve been feeling relatively good about not having any. One important insight is that I was drinking on the weekends out of routine and boredom. This is interesting because I found that I had so much more time and energy to do things instead of drinking. I’ll pay close attention to it as the month progresses and see if I can take notice of any postivie changes to my routine. Obviously I’m also looking to feel some physical benefits as well. I suspect that those won’t show up until I’m clean for about 2 weeks.
