Rock & Sand Explorer

The story of Sand □⏳

✅ Mission 1: The Investigation

1. Get your samples: a piece of limestone, a pebble, and a small scoop of sand.

2. Look at each one with just your eyes. What do you notice? How do they feel?

3. Now, let's use the microscope!

□ Microscope Tips & Tricks

  • Start Low: Always start with the lowest power magnification to find your object first.
  • Let There Be Light: Make sure the light on the microscope is on so you can see your sample clearly.
  • Slow & Steady: Turn the focus knob very slowly until the picture is sharp, not blurry.
  • For iPads: Hold the iPad very still! It's tricky. Try resting your hands on the table to stay steady. Ask a friend for help if you need it.

□ Mission 2: Capture Your Discoveries

Take a picture of what you see in the microscope for each sample. Then, describe what you discovered!
